Infant-to-Toddler Rocker

When baby toppled himself over in the bouncer at about 4 1/2 months old, I immediately put the chair in the closet. It was a sad day, because the bouncer had gone with us everywhere! The beach, to work, grandparents' houses, etc. Also, we had gotten into a routine where after baby ate, he would sit in his bouncer for a while to relax and digest, helping to prevent him from spitting up.
I went online and found the Infant-to-Toddler rocker by Fischer Price. This seemed like a great solution because the photos on the web site showed a baby sitting in the same chair that a toddler was using. But I didn't want to pay $35.00! Luckily a consignment shop in Grandma's neighborhood had one for $10! It was a little dirty but I took off the cover and ran in through the wash. Good as new!
This chair is great because it has the calming vibrations, it can be a rocker or you can pull out kickstand to stabilize baby. The website shows a cool toy bar, but my used chair didn't have this.
So this is our new go-everywhere chair. We are very happy to have found a replacement for the bouncer.

Edushape Crockoglock Xylophone

Babies love to bang on things to make noise. If your ears can stand it, then the Crockoglock Xylophone is a good purchase. For a music toy for a baby, it's not too loud. Even though this toy states that it is for a baby/toddler, the bars actually come off. My son has figured this out and when I caught him crawling around with one of the pieces, banging on furniture, we decided that this would be a toy he could only play with if we were sitting right next to him. Besides the fact that he was ruining our wood furniture, I don't think it is really safe for a baby to be crawling around holding a piece of metal.RATING: ***
COMMENTS: This toy would be a lot better if the metal bars did not come off.
Classic Tiny Trike

The Classic Tiny Trike by RadioFlyer is a great 1st birthday present. Even though my son does not walk yet, he is still able to play with the toy. However, I do think that your baby needs to be able to walk to fully maximize this toy. This rider is very sturdy and supports baby as he pulls up on it as well. Plus, this toy is a classic and will last forever! RATING:****
COMMENTS: Once this toy is put together, it is not meant to ever be taken apart. There are no small pieces that baby can take off and put in his mouth. Has a bell and heavy duty plastic tassels.
